Content overhaul!

Legacy is complete at long last, and Chronicles has been reworked as the prologue book it was always meant to be. I've removed the Illegal Operation articles since those are pretty much Eye Lazor Beams territory now. A new SpaceTime book will be up soon, focusing on the continued adventures of James Carda and his allies. We're moving forward (finally)!

Updates will continue to be slow, alas.

Ironically, a lack of job seems to be worse for my creative flow than having one.

At any rate, Chapter 6 of Legacy is up, as well as an Illegal Operation regarding something that's been on my mind of late.

Been a while!

I'm currently working on several projects at once, both for LT3 and Eye Lazor Beams, so that explains my apparent absence from this site.

That said, I'm just about ready to open up a new project here; it's half collaborative fiction and half RPG campaign. It's been awesome so far, and I'm looking forward to getting the first few sessions transcribed for your perusal.

Wow, first post of the new year and it's almost February already. Oops.

It's been kind of slow here lately, primarily thanks to my new position as staff member and co-host of Eye Lazor Beams! I've been posting my more games-centric Illegal Operation articles there, which means I may rename the section here and stick with more philosophical and spiritual rants on this site.

I believe there should be a new Legacy chapter by the end of the week to tie up the current story arc.

Also, if you're interested in the work I've been doing over on ELB, here's the link: http://eyelazorbeams.com

Another month, another update, with new content this time!

We proudly present "Legacy". This is the end result of what happens when an author rewrites a story one too many times and finally his wife gets fed up and decides to overhaul it herself, once and for all, no more do-overs.

There are some definite similarities between the previous STL draft and this one, because we used the start of that draft as a baseline. NetRaptor's doing a lot of the heavy lifting this time around, so to speak, but I'm still actively participating in the writing and editing processes, so it's even more of a joint venture than it was before!

It's exciting to be able to present the first handful of chapters of Legacy, and we hope that this time around, she'll help me finally get it right, once and for all, no more do-overs. ^_^;

Apologies for my absence since the most recent site overhaul. Work has been sapping my energy of late, and I haven't had a lot of "creative time". I imagine WoW may have something to do with that too, but I'm not sure yet.

Anyway, as you can see there's currently two projects available for your enjoyment. Chronicles is the aforementioned rewrite, and if you're wondering who these new people are and what happened to Carda, don't worry. Everything will be explained in time.

Second is Illegal Operation, which is my personal rant space. I'll be covering games of all kinds as well as general geekdom. (Geekery? Geekishness?)

Future projects slated for eventual release include Legacy, which is the previous draft of STC. Some folks were concerned when I pulled it down, so I'll be reposting the old Book One in full. Just keep in mind that it's now an alternate timeline, and events may be decidedly different between Legacy and Chronicles, depending on how the story writes (or rewrites) itself.

Also of note, an extremely belated shout-out to woodduckprime over on DA for some excellent fan art of Carda and Xironi.

Those who have been following SpaceTime from the beginning may be aware that one problematic plothole kept popping up in the various drafts. That plothole was named Echo. She was something of a leftover from an early draft, a leftover that was an attempt to keep the present incarnation of a character alive even as the real character in question faded and transformed into something completely different.

Well, now she's back. The new direction, prompted by a comment to my last post, ensures that even Echo will get a chance to shine. I've been trying to focus my efforts on James Carda for too long. In essence, I've been so focused on myself, as it were, that I was failing to see the big picture: there's dozens of characters in this universe, and they all deserve to have their stories told. Some want to tell their stories themselves, while others prefer to write about their experiences in journals. Others would prefer to let someone else chronicle the events of their lives. All these characters, with their varied approaches to storytelling, have all been poking at me for YEARS, trying to get my attention.

And now they'll have it.

Moving forward, The SpaceTime Legacy will become The SpaceTime Chronicles (indeed, we're back to STC as we come full circle). The story will be one of study and research, as a lone scribe pieces together the events that surrounded one of the most crucial events in the history of the multiverse: the Subspace Storm. Comedy and tragedy will coexist with action and adventure as the lives of those involved intersect in their various ways.

I haven't been this excited about the story in years. I may finally finish it this time.

A month out from the last news update, so I figure it's time for a new one.

Holly's doing fine. I start a new job next Monday, which will reduce the amount of time I have to work on the final draft. Ironically, this will probably also boost my creative flow to a point where I can actually write again; my output of late has been dismal. Here's hoping...

Currently on Chapter Four of the draft. I haven't been posting it because I intend to make the final product a complete Book, as in cover image and everything. I may publish it or I may put it up for free, it's difficult to say at this point. I will note that if you think you know the story, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the changes I've been making. The story is flowing a lot better with the new direction the plot is taking; fewer MacGuffins, for starters.

Haven't done much with Bravo 13th in over a year, either. Eventually I'm going to overhaul that thing too, but it's just a side project. The book comes first.

I've hit a writer's block as far as the final draft of Book One is concerned, and yet I've got a great idea for Book Two. I've gone ahead and posted the first draft of the first chapter; it's a bit of a departure from the overall style of Book One, but that's intentional. Hope you enjoy!
